Brian and I are up in Winter Park, Colorado this weekend riding in Trestle Bike Park. Being only 137 miles from home, we decided that we were going to become downhill mountain bike bums and buy Season Passes. For those that don’t know what downhill mountain biking is all about, here is the short (ish) description. You first need a mountain bike on steroids! Mine weighs about twice what the average mountain bike weighs and has about twice the suspension. You then find a ski area that will haul your bike to the top of the mountain on their lift. Once there you find a suitably crazy path down (rated like ski slopes…green, blue, black diamond, and double black diamond). Then you ride your bike like you stole it. The adrenaline rush is awesome. Especially when you ride just beyond your capabilities! Oh yeah, and you wear lots of pads and armor! Today Brian and I were definitely riding outside the envelope on some new terrain. Some of the worst (gnarly in mountain bike jargon) we have ridden; which translates directly into fun! After riding all this really gnarly stuff, we took a short green trail back down to the lift, and you can probably guess what happened…This entry was posted in Uncategorized by randyhulsey and comments are closed.
